Americas
The UNOY Americas regional network keeps growing and comprises as of today 19 member organisations across 14 countries.
A great milestone for regional development was the Young Peacebuilders’ Forum (2019) held in Bogotá, Colombia, which brought together over 50 young peacebuilders from across the region. Building on that success, our most recent event in Buenos Aires (2024) gathered 17 young peacebuilders to decide the future strategy of the Americas Youth Advocacy Team (AmYAT).

In recent years, the UNOY Americas regional network has developed exponentially with the publication and country-launch in 2021 of the report Hacia una Agenda Latinoamericana y Caribeña de Juventudes, Paz y Seguridad and its collaboration with the United Nations Alliance of Civilisations (UNAOC) Young Peacebuilders Programme in Latin America and the Caribbean. A testament to this great journey of hard work and commitment is the last Americas Youth Advocacy Team (Am-YAT) report Catalyst for Change: Youth Leadership in Rights, Diversity, and Social Cohesion Across the Americas. Published in 2025, it represents one more successful step towards an evidence-based American narrative on Youth, Peace and Security.
Priorities for the regional network also include prevention of violence and protection of civic spaces and young activists, who have recently faced threats and difficulties to build peace properly and safely.
