We are the leading global community of young peacebuilders. We envision a peaceful world free from all forms of violence.
A world where:
- Young people safely and collaboratively lead sustainable peace efforts;
- Peace and Security stakeholders partner with young people at all levels of decision making;
- Political structures/systems at all levels enable and sustain meaningful youth participation and leadership in peace and decision-making processes.
Our Mission
As a global network of youth-led organisations, we are dedicated to building and sustaining peace. For 30 years, we have been working to end the violence of young people's exclusion. The United Network of Young Peacebuilders exists to:
- Build safe and sustainable spaces for young people to exchange, collaborate, and shape the decisions that affect them;
- Sustain youth-led peacebuilding organisations in their work at all levels;
- Amplify young people’s voices and transform the power structures that exclude them from decision-making.
We will not stop until young people’s contributions to peace and security are recognised and supported worldwide; and even then, we will continue to sustain them.

As a global network, UNOY Peacebuilders share common values and principles that guide our work. These values are based on a holistic understanding of peace; so not only the absence of war or direct violence, but also the presence of positive conditions that support physical, psychological, social, cultural, economic, and environmental well-being. We are committed to building sustainable peace that is shaped, led and owned by local communities to prevent all forms of violence.
