Uru Team are the Indigenous “Mujeres Uru Team” of the Aymara Murato people that blends ancestral wisdom with technological innovation for climate resilience. Their operating model focuses on the leadership of indigenous women and youth, who act as community technologists leading ecosystem restoration through the reintroduction of native plants, for example. Uru Team is Bolivia’s first Indigenous women-led grassroots initiative restoring ecosystems through ancestral knowledge, youth leadership, and peacebuilding. Their mission is to empower Indigenous youth and women to lead environmental restoration using nature-based solutions. They envision a world where cultural identity, ecological justice, and nonviolence drive sustainable change in marginalized communities.
