Youth Social Advocacy Team
Youth Social Advocacy Team is a refugee youth-led national non-profit organisation based in Uganda working with innovative, creative self-driven and high profile youth, women and men who have dedicated their energies and efforts to enrich peaceful coexistence among different refugee communities in Rhino Camp Refugee Settlement, IDPs & returnees in South Sudan.
The organisation promotes youth & women empowerment, leads the campaign against hate speech and social media incitement to violence, improves the prevention of sexual gender-based violence and to see an improved girl child education through integrated bottom-up Innovative approaches like peace education, intercultural & inter-generational dialogue, annual youth entrepreneurship initiatives, environmental protection & “Let Girls Go to School” campaign.
Their vision is a society where youth are seen as practical tools for sustainable development, meaningfully engaged while appreciating gender equity, to produce youth leaders that will change their nations.
Their Mission is to create a better platform for youth advocacy where SGBV, youth unemployment, gender inequality will no longer be a threat in the society while integrating the culture of peaceful co-existence among the refugees & between them with host community youth.
